Blue Sky Studios’ adaptation of Charles M. Schultz’s Peanuts comic strip–The Peanuts Movie–has been well-documented on this website for quite some time, and despite the fact that we won’t know how well Blue Sky’s CG-animated take on the beloved property will stack up until next fall, we definitely won’t be getting a shortage of promotional materials that should serve to whet our appetites.
As reported by many outlets, 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky have (in a rather unexpected surprise) dropped a second full-length trailer for The Peanuts Movie just today!
The trailer can be viewed down below:
Apart from the new opening interaction from Woodstock and Snoopy, the new trailer is basically a repeat of the same high-flying sequence seen in the first full trailer (you can watch that here). While it’s disappointing that it doesn’t give us anything new, it probably makes the most sense for them not to divulge any concrete plot details right now, since we are so far away from its release.
If anything is certain right now, it’s that the trailer once again reinforces the conceit that the film will stay true to the iconic world and the many characters that inhabit it, while at the same time using the capabilities of CG animation to open up the world to a newer generation.
The film features a cast of up-and-coming child voice actors that includes Noah Schnapp (Charlie Brown), Hadley Belle Miller (Lucy van Pelt), AJ Teece (Pig-Pen), Noah Johnston (Schroeder), Venus Schultheis (Peppermint Petty), Alexander Garfin (Linus van Pelt), Francesca Capaldi (Little Red-Haired Girl), Mar Mar (Franklin), Mariel Sheets (Sally Brown), and Rebecca Bloom (Marcie). Rounding out the cast is William Alexander Wunsch (Shermy), Anastasia Bredikhina (Patty), and Madisyn Shipman as Violet. Archival recordings of Bill Melendez are being used for the voices of Snoopy and Woodstock.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
The Peanuts Movie arrives in theaters on November 6, 2015.
