Only a few days ago Pixar revealed some new international posters for its highly anticipated release of next Summer, Inside Out. Today, we got our first official character poster which focuses on one of the main characters, Sadness, voiced by Phyllis Smith.
Mashable.com interviewed one of the voice talents of Inside Out, Phyllis Smith who voices the character of Sadness, about her character in the movie. In the interview, Smith describes her character as sad but in a fun way, Sadness is smart and always thinking ahead. Smith also reveals that since most of Sadness’ scenes are with Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler) that Sadness is basically a ball and chain around Joy’s ankle, and a challenge to Joy.
”Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions — Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.”
Come back tomorrow to meet Disgust voiced by Mindy Kaling!
Inside Out will release in theaters nationwide on June 19, 2015.
