The Cannes Film Festival is one of the biggest film festivals in the world and today the 70th edition of the annual film festival kicked off. Most studios are there to present and premiere upcoming films and animation is not exception from that. Today, DreamWorks presented its upcoming film, Trolls, at the festival and a first clip was immediately released online.
The new clip features Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake’s characters, Poppy and Branch, who embark on a journey together in the movie. The clip also shows off the visuals, world and some new characters we hadn’t yet heard about. Check it out below!
Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, who both voice the film’s leads, are at the Cannes Film Festival to present the film and openend the Trolls presentation with a cover of the song True Colors, which will apparently be in the movie alongside other classics like The Sound of Silence. You can see the performance below.
Trolls is co-directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn and the film features the voice-talents of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Icona Pop, Kunnal Nayyar, Ronald Funches, Russel Brand, Glozell and Gwen Stefani. Recently Youtube stars Kandee Johnson and Ricky Dillon joined the film’s voice-cast as trolls and Christine Baranski, John Cleese, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Zoey Deschanel joined the cast as the villainous Bergens. When more details from the Cannes Film Festival emerge we’ll be sure to cover it!
