Frozen will make its Disney theme park debut in a big way this holiday season.
Premiering November 15 at Disney California Adventure is “World of Color: Winter Dreams,” a vibrant, elaborate nighttime spectacular with water as its main star. The show’s host will be none other than Olaf, the plucky snowman from Frozen, hitting theaters November 27. Winter Dreams will also include new animation from Frozen and other Disney and Pixar favorites. (Concept art shows a Toy Story iteration of The Nutcracker will be involved.)
The original version of World of Color debuted in 2010 to instant acclaim, and has packed crowds nightly ever since. It’s exciting to see the technology put to use for a holiday overlay. It is expected that Winter Dreams will be an entirely new show altogether, not merely a brief insertion into the existing show. An end date has not been announced, but expect it to be shortly after New Year’s.
For those unfamiliar with the World of Color concept, here’s a clip from the current version of the show. Can you imagine how Frozen will look!!
