Bill Farmer, the voice of Goofy for over two decades, has a Pixar voice project in the works.
Farmer tweeted, “Had a great day on Stage B @ Disney doing voicework for the very new Pixar film. #tarastrong, #JimWard, #PhilProctor, & the fun people!”
What’s the very new Pixar film he speaks of? Finding Dory, the most recent one to be announced? Inside the Mind? The Good Dinosaur? Your guess is as good as mine.
Intriguing are the people Farmer hashtagged. They are fellow voice actors, and the tweet frames the situation as the four of them all being part of the cast of this Pixar film together, whatever it may be. If that’s the case, it will be a fun bunch of characters.
Tara Strong has voiced a long list of favorite characters, arguably most adored among them being Timmy Turner from The Fairly OddParents. Jim Ward has an equally long resume of filmography stretching from movies to video games to TV, including Chet Ubetcha on The Fairly OddParents. Phil Proctor’s credits include Howard Deville on Rugrats, as well as background-character voices for the likes of Aladdin, Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, The Princess and the Frog, and others. Interestingly, Proctor voiced Bob the seahorse in Finding Nemo. Could this mean Finding Dory voice sessions have started, or it that jumping the gun?
Farmer also mentions “the fun people,” but there are, of course, too many of those at Pixar to narrow down anyone specific in terms of leadership. Regardless, this mystery cast is certainly a fun one, whether they are principal characters or background players. Goofy, Timmy Turner, Chet Ubetcha, and Phil & Lil’s dad all in the same movie? This could get interesting.
